Balochistan Nal. Ca. 2300 BC A beautifully painted pottery cup with a circular foot, a broad base, tall walls, and a slightly flared rim surrounding the deep basin. The cream-slipped exterior is decorated by a cencentral panel of registers, each separated by a section of interlaced hatching. Between these, a red painted rectangle with thick lines, with an internal rectangle of hatching design. Below the rim of the cup are three bands of lines, the central line painted in a deep blood red, encircled by two black lines. Decorated in red, purple and black paint. Size: L:85mm / W:120mm ; 222g Provenance: Property of a London gallery; formely in High Wycombe Estate collection; formerly acquired on the UK Art market.
