A RUTH BADER GINSBURG SOUTHWESTERN WALL HANGING.Small tapestry woven in blue, tan, brick and ecru, tasseled ends, affixed at upper end to small wooden dowel, 458 x 243 mm. On August 16, 2016, Justice Ginsburg appeared at a United Way event on behalf of the Santa Fe Early Learning Center. The Justice read aloud from a book by Joel Nakamara and answered questions from the audience about her career and the best way to raise feminist boys. At the end of the event, a 10-year-old local artist presented Ginsburg with a small traditional weaving she had created. The Justice thanked her and said, "I hope you go on making such beautiful things." Justice Ginsburg brought the wall tapestry home to Washington and hung it on the wall behind the piano in the main living area.
