**Originally Listed At $1200** Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Paquime / Casas Grandes, Ramos Polychrome type, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. A wonderful and vibrant hand-built Ramos Polychrome pottery storage jar with painted motifs of geometric stepped, cross hatched, and curvilinear shapes and a pair of abstract parrot heads in red. The bulbous beaks and beady circular eyes create a wild expression on these charming birds. The vessel rests on a rounded base, the walls swelling up and outward to a slightly flared lip. The surface is slipped in a creamy beige then adorned in the black and russet red hues. A captivating example of the Ramos Polychrome type of pottery!
