A FINE PALE GREEN JADE INKSTICK REST18th century Crisply carved with scrolling feet, the top surface with three grooves, centred with a pierced roundel containing an auspicious bat and a deer amidst dense foliage, the stone of even pale green tone. 9.2cm (3 5/8in) long. The present lot has grooves carved for the purpose of channelling any droplets of excess watery ink. pare with a related jade brushrest, Qing dynasty, in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in A Garland of Treasures: Masterpieces of of Precious Crafts in the Museum Collection , Taipei, 2014, p.161, no.IV-52.
