A Chinese gilt bronze Usnisa-Sitapatra Buddha, dating from the 18th century. Seated in the lotus position on a lotus platform the usnisa-sitapatra Buddha raises left hand in mudra position and the right straight out with open palm. The Buddha wearing an elaborate crown and body jewelry, disc earrings, and multiple necklaces. Base is sealed with a metal plate and incised Tibetan stampH. 6 3/4" (17.1 cm)Provenance: Collection of James Marshall Plumber (1899-1960) thence by descentCondition: good condition overall with minor losses of gilding
