Well potted, the pear-shaped body rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck with everted rim, finely painted to the exterior with evenly spaced flowering prunus branches, framed to the shoulder and foot with bands of lotus blossoms and scrolling vines, the neck with a geometric border. Weisbrod is a noted scholar of Chinese art, who has published extensively on the subject over a time span of more than 50 years. In 1972, Michael joined his father Dr. Gerald Weisbrod’s Asian art gallery in Toronto, Canada.
