【款识】大净工坊. 炉口收敛，鼓弧腹，下部弧收，卧足。精铜锻造，金光熠熠，铜质细密，敲之悦耳，抚绵柔腻，滑润沁心。整器造型规整，外壁光素无雕琢，令人握在手中有“天然去雕饰”之感。整器金水一流，丰腴莹润，经年累月却保存完好，由此更加难能可贵。 钵形器早在新石器时代的裴李岗文化和磁山文化的陶器中就已经出现。但“钵”字是佛门盛贮器的音译，自佛教传入中国后，僧人多用之。明宣德时，皇家崇信佛教，特别是藏传佛教。大批藏地僧侣纷纷入京朝贡。因而此类炉形也随之应运而生，得到发展。
