A Chinese blue-glazed 'dragon' bowl , circa 1645, incised to the exterior with two confronting dragons chasing the flaming pearl, the base painted with brown slip, with Radcliffe collection label 'C3' and Evill collection label, 18.7cm diameter Compare with a similar bowl, with copper rim, illustrated in Chinese Porcelain , Exhibition: A selection from the Michael Butler Collection , Princesshof Museum, The Netherlands, 1986, p.42, pl.40 Provenance: Acquired by Bluetts from Mr Head (Sudbury) on July 1st, 1941, for seven shillings Bluetts then sold to Sir Robert Bruce, March 19th, 1945, £27.10.00 Sold by Sotheby's, May 12th, 1953, Lot 93, £42, bought by Bluett on commission for W.A.
