A George II burr walnut and feather banded chest on chest, circa 1740, 182.5cm high, 117cm wide, 55cm deep A related example of chest on chest with near identical canted angles sold in these rooms, 10th December 2020, Fine Furniture, Sculpture, Ceramics and Carpets, Lot 512 (£12,000). Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips, splits and losses. Handles and escutcheons are old replacements. Some small plugged holes to drawer fronts from previous fixtures. Locks are 18th century but are replacements. No keys present, all locks are open. Various old veneer and moulding repairs. Some sections of veneer and moulding re-stuck. One axe head handle to slide lacking. Evidence of old worm to back and underside. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
