The paper has discoloured a little. There are brown discolouration stains on the sitter's chest, neck, face and arm, as well as in the background. There are remnants of torn white paper at the left and right edges, possibly from a previous mount. There is a faded margin around the edge of the portrait possibly from a previous mount. There is a dark stain on the left forearm. Not seen outside of glazed frame.
