English School, early 19th century Portrait of a young gentleman, bust length, in a black coat and white stock miniature on ivory 8.7 x 6.4cm, oval, in an ebonised frame and gilt-metal slip Condition report: A light scratch across the coat lapel. A pale line in front of the sitter's sideburn. The dark paint on the coat looks a little unfinished and blotchy. There is a pinky orange tinge to the top area of the portrait, including the hair. Not seen outside of glazed frame.
