AN AUSTRIAN EGYPTIAN REVIVAL IRIDESCENT GLASS VASE, KARLSBAD, PROBABLY MOSER, 19TH CENTURY of modified amphora-shape with two angular handles, the body enamelled with a continuous band of zig-zags with lotus blossoms, with two lotus blossoms below the handles, centered with a sacrificial procession of nine figures holding trays, leading cows and a single giraffe, with hieroglyphics above and on the reverse, marked with Karlsbad medallion and numbered 399.4.D.1576 on the foot; overall height: 40.6 cm (16 in.) PROVENANCE Christie's, New York, April 24, 2003, lot 105 Acquired at the above by the present owner CONDITION The vase is in overall age-appropriate condition. One of the handles was previously broken but repaired, a visible discoloration and hairline fracture is visible to the naked eye. Overall surface dust is visible. N.B.
