A Chinese moulded 'Ding' type bowl, Song-Jin Dynasty, the shallow rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an unglazed rim, crisply moulded to the interior with a floral medallion encircled by two phoenix separated by peony and within a key-fret band, covered overall in an ivory glaze with green tint, 17.2cm diameter Provenance: From the collection of the late J.B. da Silva (1918-2003) and by family descent. Bought from Sotheby's, Conduit Street, 11th December 1985, Lot 16 for £160.00.
