Pair of reliefs: Italy, 16th-19th century. Carved stone. Measurements: 51 x 13 x 7 cm; 37 x 11 x 11 x 11 cm. Set of two stone pilasters that stand out for their carved decoration. Despite the damage to both pieces, the reliefs that decorate them are still in good condition. They follow the aesthetics of classical motifs, based on scrolls and symmetrical plant elements. This ornamentation reached its height of splendour in the Renaissance period, when part of the rooms that made up Nero's palace, known as the Domus Aurea, were discovered.
