An Extraordinary Antique Chinese Bronze lidded censer. In tall cylinder shaped body, wider on the gallery mouth, raised on the low cylindrical flat foot. Having open work carving gilt bronze dome lid, of Scrolling floral foliate on the center dome. The main body carved by auspicious pattern and Taotie mask in the center, all in triangle shape with ruyi motif on the rim. The neck slight appear decorated with key fret pattern. Open work carved Two Fu-lion mask head handles emerged on the shoulder, and free hanging bronze rings are entrapped by the Fu-lion mouth. Triple step stack auspicious motif carved on the fillet foot base rim. The carving are superb, finely polished plain exterior, simply design yet elegant. Beautiful Chinese lidded censer that allures the eye, displaying an amazing level of craftsmanship. Crusted golden russet-greyish to attractive turquoise sea blue molted patina covers the vessels body. The under-base bears a reign mark, a six embossed script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Chenghua Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.Measurements: 5-1/8" H x 5-1/4" Diam.
