A good Chinese small white jade 'Three boys' water pot, Qing Dynasty, 18th or 19th century, finely carved in high relief with a playful scene of three boys on the exterior of the washer, the boys with their hair tied in chignons and dressed in loose flowing robes, one boy holding a ruyi sceptre in his right hand, the details well rendered, the stone of a pale white tone and white cloudy inclusions, 3.2cm high x 6.3cm long, with wood stand Jade water vessels of this type, where boys are shown around the sides of a fruit, appear to have been popular during the 18th century. See a similar jade carving sold at Sotheby's HK, 8 April 2009, Lot 1702.
