A Grueby Faience Company molded pottery scarab adorned in Grueby's signature matte, mottled, cucumber green glaze with an impressed circular mark "Grueby Faience Company Boston USA" and a stylized lotus flower on the verso. A collectible art pottery scarab with a wonderful beetle form and rich coloration. Size: 2.75" L x 4" W x 1.375" H (7 cm x 10.2 cm x 3.5 cm)Founded by William Henry Grueby in 1897 and operating until 1920, the Grueby Faience Company produced art pottery and tiles, often enhanced with its signature mottled cucumber green matte glaze.
