Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A fine gathering of 3 mold-formed pottery female votive heads exhibiting sensitive detailing and feminine grace. The first head features puffy eyelids, rounded cheeks, and a centrally parted coiffure with a backswept central bun. The second head bears intricate braiding across the front of her brow as well as a thick bun bound upwards along the verso. The largest head casts her gaze over her right shoulder and dons a laurel-leaf headband across her forehead. Size of largest (laurel headband): 1.3" W x 1.8" H (3.3 cm x 4.6 cm); 3.3" H (8.4 cm) on included custom stand.
