Indo-Greek (Graeco-Indian Kingdom), ca. 180 BCE to 10 CE. A stunning silver ring with an oval carnelian intaglio that depicts a horned animal - perhaps an ibex, mountain goat, or stag - standing upon all four legs, with a long tail, and an inscription above. The generous shank and bezel are both engraved with curvilinear, vine-like motifs, and a band of perforations surrounds the bezel as well.
