A good Chinese blue and white cylindrical brush pot, Kangxi, late 17th century, decorated with a boy and a water buffalo confronting the Western Han official Bing Ji and his guard, four character Xuande Nianzhi mark on the partly glazed base, 14cm high Provenance: Purchased by the late J.B. da Silva (1918-2003) from Christophe, May 1963, for £19.00, and by family descent. No receipt but itemised in collection notes.
