Description
Translation provided by Youdao
North Africa, Sahara Desert, Late Stone Age, ca. 50,000 to 10,000 years ago. A pair of hand-made quartz crystal ear plugs. Translucent with a pink hue, these were shaped and polished to have a slightly bulbous end that prevented the tubular point from falling out of the earlobe. Skillfully made by ancient people that inhabited the Sahara when it was a savanna; a hospitable climate for these hunter gatherers. Evidence suggests these humans even developed small mines to quarry stones for tools. These ear plugs were fashioned using stone, demonstrating the skill and patience to create these pieces.
