AN ARCHAISTIC PALE CELADON JADE PENDANT OF A QILIN, QINGChina, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. Crafted in the style of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, meticulously carved and chiseled by hand and without modern tool marks. The flattened pendant carved in the form of a Qilin, seated atop an elongated phoenix and with its head resting on the phoenix’s head, with ears flicked back and a single horn, the body carved with flames. The semi-translucent stone of a pale celadon tone, the lower area with russet inclusions and creamy alterations.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
