AN ARCHAISTIC YELLOW JADE ‘PHOENIX’ WASHERChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later. Carved as a phoenix, the open wings and body forming the bowl, to one side, the head of the animal with a leafy vine in its beak and the tongue sticking out, the interior of the bowl is incised with an apocryphal Qianlong Nianzhi seal mark (potentially added later). The smoothly polished, translucent stone of a pale-yellow tone with faint russet inclusions.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minuscule nibbling here and there. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.Weight: 113 g Dimensions: Length 15.5 cm
