AN ARCHAISTIC PALE YELLOW AND RUSSET JADE DISC AND BLADE, GUIBI, QINGChina, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), most certainly 18th century. Masterfully crafted in the style of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, showcasing a superior level of craftsmanship quality achieved through the painstaking manual work of carving and chiseling, without the use of modern tools as indicated by the absence of any modern tool marks. The disc carved to one side with small spirals with differently oriented ‘tails’ within inner and outer raised borders, the blade is crossing the disc and carved with archaistic scrolls. The semi-translucent stone of a pale yellow tone with russet areas and veining.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minuscule nibbling here and there. The outer rim with a small chip. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
