A PAIR OF ARCHAISTIC WHITE AND RUSSET JADE ‘PHOENIXES AND DRAGON’ BI DISCSChina, 20th century. Manually crafted in the style of the Han Dynasty, stunning works of art that capture the intricate beauty of the period. Each carved to both sides with a band of comma spirals within inner and outer raised borders, the central aperture enclosing a horned dragon. The discs are flanked by a pair of phoenixes. The semi-translucent stones of a white tone with russet shadings and surface alterations.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minuscule nibbling here and there. Each with two small chips to exposed areas. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s. Weight: 108 g and 104 g Dimensions: Height 10 cm, width 14.5 cm each
