AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF APSARAChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The celestial figure standing elegantly on her two bird legs, gracefully playing the lute, her wings extended, a feather dress forming her tail, the hair tied in a high chignon, framing her serene face. The figure mounted on a square base and adorned with archaistic patterns.Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, and areas of malachite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
