AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ LIDDED POTChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The round body rising from a circular foot to a short neck, the lid in the form of a bird, flanked by a dragon-form handle, and the spout in the form of a mythical animal. The pot and lid finely adorned with archaistic patterns and zoomorphic elements.Condition: Good condition with minor traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations.
