A LARGE ARCHAISTIC PARCEL GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ VESSEL WITH BUDDHIST LIONSChina, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The large vessel supported by four cabriole legs, the body adorned with archaistic patterns, Buddhist lions highlighted in gilt above a diaper patterned ground, flanked by three Buddhist lion ring handles, and inlaid corals to the upper rim. The lid with a diaper patterned ground as well, decorated with the eight auspicious symbols and a big Buddhist lion finial all highlighted in gilt.Condition: Good condition with surface wear, warping, rubbing to the gilt, and some areas of malachite, azurite encrustations. Losses to the coral inlays. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
