Werner Peiner, 1897 Düsseldorf – 1984 Leichlingen Der Maler studierte ab 1919 an der Düsseldorfer Akademie. 1933 wurde er an die Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie als Professor für Monumentalmalerei berufen.

In the centre a beautiful woman with free upper part of her body and long wavy blond hair, sitting in a carriage with red canopy decorated with gold ornaments and gold tassels. It is pulled by two rams with magnificent horns. In the background there is a view of a landscape with fruit trees and palm trees, under a high blue sky. The sitter, called Earth, is surrounded by the depicted personifications of Asia, Africa, Australia, time, summer, permanence, fertility, spring, autumn, America and Europe. In the centre of the lower part, in a golden frame, again the designation "earth". The picture is also surrounded by a double beige-brown band decoration. (12215637) (18)
