North Africa, Morocco, Tamegroute, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A splendid and sizeable pottery dish presenting a tall, pedestal foot with a tiered base, supporting a vessel with thick walls that gently rise to form a shallow basin and wide-spanning rim. A rich emerald-hued glaze - typical of Tamegroute pottery - envelops the entirety of the elegant dish, gathering in areas around the rim to form forest green globules, while liberal remains of an incised starburst design can be found on the interior.
