AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A COURT LADYChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The woman set on a flower pedestal, wearing long flowing robes and heavily gathered sleeves above clasped hands, with expressive facial features such as raised eyebrows, pursed lips, plumb cheeks, and her hair tied in a high chignon. The figure adorned with neatly incised archaistic patterns.Condition: Very good condition with minor surface wear, rubbing to the gilt, manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite, and cuprite encrustations.
