AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A RECUMBENT RAMChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The recumbent ram with a bulky body and its legs tucked underneath the body, the horned head looking straight ahead and with a serene facial expression. The figure with neatly incised archaistic patterns.Condition: Good condition with minor surface wear, rubbing to the gilt, small manufacturing flaws, and some areas of malachite and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
