AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ CENSER AND COVER, BOSHANLUChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The phoenix with its widespread wings, standing above a chi dragon within a concaved dish, all supporting a large semi-spherical cup with a pierced cover, depicting a mountainous landscape. The censer and cover adorned with neatly incised archaistic patterns.Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, slight warping to the inner rim, and areas of malachite and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
