AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A MYTHICAL BIRDChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The mythical creature resembling a heraldic bird, standing on two legs while the third leg is grown below the tail, with bulging eyes, a curved beak, horns, the wings of pointed leaf form, and the body with finely incised archaistic patterns.Condition: Good condition with minor traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, some minor manufacturing flaws, and areas of malachite and azurite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
